  Pleasant Callaway Spier was born on Jann 22 1845 Jefferson Co Ala. He died Jan 14 1888, in Conway Co Ar. The first record available for P C Spier is of his enlisting in the Union Army in Jan of 1864. The second record is of his medical records after getting shot in Jan 1865 in a skirmish on the outskirts of Memphis,Tn. He is discharged with a disability in Oct of 1865. He had a three quarters disability,but was not granted a pension. He married Harriet Ann (Hibben)Bruce in April in 1874 at the brides home in Conway Co Ar. The couple had six children all of which were still minors when P C died in 1888. P C is buried under a big oak tree on his homestead. a there is a stone with name dob and dod P C filed for and received a homestead in Conway Co. in 1883, he received 160 acres.
